Getting here by bike

You’d like to come to by bike? - we’re very pleased to hear it.

Memmingen has a well-developed network of cycle paths and many special offers for cycling. For this, we were awarded the distinction "Bicycle-Friendly Municipality in Bavaria" by the Bavarian State Ministry of Transport and the Working Group of Bicycle-Friendly Municipalities in Bavaria at the beginning of 2020. An approximately 1100 kilometre long cycle path network links the cycle paths in the region. Uniform signposting throughout Memmingen and the entire Unterallgäu ensures good orientation.

Do you want take your bike along with you on public transport? All regional trains in Bavaria provide you with the opportunity to take your bike with you. To take bicycles with you on the train, you must always purchase one daily bicycle ticket per  bike . Further information is available under Travelling by train and bicycle. Likewise, you can also take your bicycle with you on the bus to Memmingen. All bus lines in the area covered by the Verkehrsverbund Mittelschwaben (Middle Swabia Transport Association), the districts of Günzburg and Unterallgäu, offer bicycle transport.
