Memmingen - the cycling city

The bike is a favourite form of transport in Memmingen. So if you want to combine historical ambience with culture and nature, you should get on your bike!

Memmingen has a well-developed network of cycle paths and many special offers for cycling. For this, we were awarded the distinction "Bicycle-Friendly Municipality in Bavaria" by the Bavarian State Ministry of Transport and the Working Group of Bicycle-Friendly Municipalities in Bavaria at the beginning of 2021.

Bicycle Welcome Area
Memmingen has a bicycle welcome area in the centre of the city on the Platz der Deutschen Einheit (German Unity Square) for the safe parking of bicycles. In addition to the parking spaces, it offers a free repair station, lockers with mobile phone charging facilities and an information board about the surroundings and the Allgäu Cycling Tour.

You can also safely store your shopping bags, rain wear or cycle helmets in other lockers at Hallhof and at the station.

Mobile phone and e-bike charging station
Flat battery! No problem. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a mobile phone or e-bike battery: both are covered.

You can charge your mobile phone in the safety of a secure locker with us at the Tourist Information. While your mobile phone is charging, you can explore around the city. Or gather a few tips from our Tourist Information team, or simply enjoy the sun in the adjoining Italian café.

You can charge you e-bike at on of the six charging stations at Schrannenplatz in the city centre. From there, you can explore the pedestrian area leading northwards. You can find further e-bike charging stations at Rad- & Rollercenter Heiss - a bike shop in Rudolf-Diesel-Straße - or directly before the Cineplex in Fraunhoferstraße.

Bicycle parking garage
Over 250 covered parking spaces are available in our bicycle parking garage at the station. Further parking facilities can be found at the Welcome Area, Hallhof and Schrannenplatz.

Fahrrad-Willkommensplatz

Zum sicheren Abstellen der Räder gibt es in Memmingen einen Fahrrad-Willkommensplatz mitten im Zentrum am Platz der Deutschen Einheit. Er bietet neben den Abstellplätzen eine kostenfreie Reparaturstation, Schließfächer mit Handylademöglichkeit und eine Informationstafel zur Umgebung und Radrunde Allgäu. In weiteren Schließfächern am Hallhof und am Bahnhof kannst du deine Einkaufstaschen, Regenkleider oder Fahrradhelme sicher aufbewahren.

E-Bike Ladestation

Dein E-Bike lädst du zentral an einer der sechs Ladestationen am Schrannenplatz auf. Von dort aus kannst du die nördliche Fußgängerzone erkunden. Weitere Ladestationen für dein E-Bike findest du im Rad- & Rollecenter Heiss in der Rudolf-Diesel-Straße oder direkt am Cineplex in der Fraunhoferstraße.

Handyaufladestation 

Akku leer? Kein Problem!  Dein Handy kannst du bei uns in der Tourist Information sicher in einem Schließfach aufladen. Und solange das Handy lädt, kannst du die Stadt erkunden. Tipps gibt’s von unserem Tourist Informations Team. Oder genieße einfach die Sonne im nahe gelegenen Café.

Gepäckfrei durch die Stadt

Unsere Schließfächer ( B 36 cm x H 39 cm x T 50 cm) machen dir die Hände frei. Du findest sie an der Radl-Willkommensstation am Platz der Deutschen Einheit sowie am Hallhof und am Bahnhof. Achte auf das Ladesymbol an der Tür.
